So this section is all about telling everyone more about myself. ‘A little boast about oneself section”, I am very lucky and fortunate to have two wonderful boys Jordan and Tyler, a gorgeous corporate leader wife Stacey, always great father (Clive), all round world class mother (Ann) and business women extraordinaire sister (Lauren) all who live in our amazing suburb call Durban North. I will try and tell you why I became a chiropractor, live in Durban and run my Health Centre in Durban North.
I have lived in Durban most of my life, completed all forms of education in Durban right the way from junior school all the way through to my chiropractic qualification. I qualified as a chiropractor in 2006 from the Durban University of Technology. I have always been an active person, playing a lot of sport at school leading to a passion for sports medicine. Sport was the reason I was treated by sport medicine practitioners and lead me to chiropractic as one of the holistic approaches to health care. My passion for sport lead to involvement in sports medicine with numerous sports teams over the years. I treated the South African Men’s Hockey Team in the build-up to Beijing Olympics 2008 and World Cup 2010, went as team sports chiropractor for South African U21 Men’s Field Hockey Team in Singapore 2009, South African Women’s Under Water Hockey Team 2008 , Kwazulu Natal Men’s Outdoor and Indoor Field Hockey (2006-2012), and Kwazulu Natal U21 Men Outdoor and Indoor (2006-2012). I was team head for the medical team comprised of a multidisciplinary team of Biokineticists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Personal Trainers for Collegians rugby club 2007-2012 as well as for Durban North (Riverside) Hockey Club Junior and Senior Teams 2007-2011.
There has been a huge rise in back pain globally primarily due to the volume everyone is sitting. The inactivity leading to neck pain (including migraine, headache and pinched nerve), upper back pain, and lower back pain (pregnancy related, slipped disc and sciatica). I also treat classic injuries such as tennis elbow, bursitis in the shoulder and hip pain. Chronic pain does not only affect joints and muscles but the entire body. Not forgetting emotional, genetics and external work/social pressures all mixed up placing the modern person under considerable stress. This requires the practitioner to be holistic in all forms of health care. I changed my treatment style over the past 12 years including exercise rehabilitation, kinesiotaping (level 3), Dynamic taping (level 1), muscle activation (level 2), extremity manipulation, dry needling and acupuncture, Advanced Biosctructural Correction and homotoxocology.
Treatment style incorporated is diversified method primarily as well as paediatric chiropractic (Sacro-occipital technique) and CBP (chiropractic biophysics of posture). The transformation and merging of systems has been to not only treat injury but off “wellness” to all patients from newborns, toddlers, children, adult and geriatrics.
I love health, being part of serving the community and being a CHIROPRACTOR.
